  • PhD Student in Glioblastoma Research - SN0917

    LRNO - NORLUX Neuro-Oncology Laboratory

This PhD Student open position is taking part of the Gliotrain project which is funded through the Horizon 2020 Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions Programme. The NORLUX Neuro-Oncology Laboratory has established unique mouse models of Glioblastoma derived from patient tumours, which provide an excellent tool to address tumour-host interactions and undertake functional studies on drug response. In this project we will generate such patient-derived xenograft (PDX) models of GBM and apply advanced flow cytometry followed by single cell sequencing and integrative systems-level bioinformatics data analysis to decipher how tumor cells adapt to the microenvironment and respond to drug treatment. This project will shed light on tumor adaptation and resistance mechanisms at the single cell level.

  • Post-Doctoral Researcher in Proteomics - GD1217

    DISPROT - Discovery Proteomics

All human cells need oxygen for energy production by oxidative phosphorylation. If the oxygen levels are low, cells switch from oxidative phosphorylation to glycolysis. This switch is important for the development and progression of cancer cells as the distribution of nutrients in the tumor is limited, and the center of the tumor is starving. By switching from oxidative phosphorylation to glycolysis, the tumor can escape many treatment options and lead to a detrimental outcome for the cancer patient...
